Japanese Antique Black ArmChair / Wabi-sabi Rustic

About the Item

This is a chair using an old Japanese mortar. The material is Zelkoba, and it seems to be around the Meiji period. It is characterized by the powerful wood grain and red-black surface of Zelkova, and its exterior can feel the beauty of ancient Japanese folk art. It is powerful because it is hollowed out using whole wood. If you look at the construction again, you can see that it was carefully carved down to the smallest detail. Even the part where the bottom is not visible is finely carved, and you can feel the commitment of the craftsmen at that time. There are traces of repair of chips on the front, but please rest assured that it is firmly fixed. The weight is very large, but you can move it by rolling it yourself. We would appreciate it if you could enjoy the beauty of "wabisabi" that has changed naturally over time. Weight: 67kg
