About the Item

We are delighted to offer for sale this pair of original late Victorian, green leather tufted Chesterfield library slipper reading armchairs with matching footstool A very good looking and well made pair, they are late Victorian examples as mentioned circa 1880-1900, they have the original mahogany frames with deep green tufted leather. These are very comfortable armchairs which is why they have been in continuous productions for around 140 years Condition wise we have deep cleaned, hand condition waxed and hand polished them from top to bottom, there are age and use related patina marks in the timber and leather as you would expect from a vintage, used pieces, nothing that detracts from the look and feel, quite the opposite in fact. There are some buttons missing here and there on the seats and foostools Chair dimensions Height:- 90cm Width:- 65.5cm Depth:- 104cm Seat height:- 39cm Footstool dimensions Height:- 43cm Width:- 61cm Depth:- 47.5cm Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point. This item is available for collection from our Pulborough warehouses Condition Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description pertaining to the condition. Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of creasing and wear, we recommend annual waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
