About the Item
E.W. Godwin attributed, probably made by William Watt. An Aesthetic Movement tall back ebonized armchair. The turnings are in keeping with other Godwin designs, and the arms are identical to the Old English or Jacobeam armchair. The S shaped back is also the same as two other cane armchairs we have available on our website, and the same as a third Godwin armchair with a William Watt label now in a private collection.
