English 19th Century Upholstered Mahogany Recliner

About the Item

A rare 19th century English mahogany reclining high back arm chair with floral upholstery and under arm metal reclining mechanism. A lovely Victorian reclining armchair that is fashionable as well as exceptionally comfortable. Of elegant proportions, having a high supportive back, a shaped stuffed seat, padded armrests, reeded carving around the polished wooden frame, and raised on splayed feet. Gently worn coral and floral vintage upholstery is hand nail tacked into place creating a beaded affect with the round nailheads. The high back reclines using the two metal handles under each arm to give the chair four comfortable positions. Original castors are on the two front feet making it easy to move the chair around. Solidly constructed with a well made easy to use mechanism, this chair will provide relaxation in style for years to come. Be sure to view all the images to get a closer look at this unique armchair.
