European Modernist Oak and Straw Armchairs, Europe, 1960s

One example of this modernist approach to furniture design is this pair of oak chairs with straw seats that were made during the 1960s. These chairs represent a departure from the ornate, heavily embellished furniture of the past, and instead emphasize the beauty of the materials themselves.
