About the Item

A delightful set of three (3) 19th century French “fauteuil crapaud”, these Empire style chairs are affectionately named after their resemblance to a toad but in the current gold velvet upholstery the look is far more glamorous than amphibious. These examples have a low profile with rounded back–like a tub chair–complete with rolled arms and matching bullion fringe skirting the floor. As an ensemble they dress up any seating area, creating a cozy and inviting spot to converse or relax in an air of French luxury & sophistication. Internal stuffing remains a comfortable firmness, however there are some areas of wear to the fabric. Please view the detailed images to see the current condition. Sold as a set of three.
