Royal House Antiques Royal House Antiques is delighted to offer for sale this absolutely stunning fully restored hand dyed Regency Green leather Antique circa 1810-1820 Mahogany Chesterfield tufted library armchair attributed to Gillows. Please note the delivery fee listed is just a guide, it covers within the M25 only for the UK and local Europe only for international, if you would like an accurate quote, please send me your postcode and I’ll provide you with the exact price. An exceptionally good looking and classically designed Regency piece, if you google Regency Gillows armchair you will see this exact piece, its listed "attributed to" because we can't find the stamp without removing the entire upholstery, that said a lot of their pieces weren't stamped because they were so clearly made by them. The look and feel is absolutely timeless, this chair looks wonderful in any setting. The timber is Mahogany it has wonderfully reeded legs and the upholstery is all period, the castors are very old brass and add another level of sophistication The chair has been fully restored to include having a new feather filled, Thomas Chippendale floating button cushion added, the hide has been washed back, hand dyed six times, antiqued, sealed waxed down and polished Dimensions Height:- 107cm Width:- 73cm Depth:- 73cm frame only, 77cm to the front of the cushion Seat height:- 48.5cm Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point, if you would like any additional or specific measurements please ask. Condition Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description around condition Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of cracking creasing and wear, we recommend regular waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
