Georgian Mahogany Gainsborough Open Armchair attr. John Cobb
About the Item
Very fine George II mahogany open armchair of generous proportions, attributed to John Cobb and/or the St. Martin’s Lane Syndicate. With upholstered seat and back, the back having an unusual bombe shape with padded arms and carved show-wood supports, the seat supported by four carved cabriole legs. Circa 1755.
