Howard & Sons Button Back Armchair
About the Item
A wonderful Howard & Sons button back armchair, C.1870.
This original Howard & Sons armchair is raised on stepped mahogany forelegs and splayed rear legs, complete with original paper label, cope brass casters and stamped to the rear leg.
A rare model which has recently been expertly and traditionally upholstered in a blue Howard & Sons monogrammed cotton fabric, the exact specification of the original found on the chair, which is still intact and in use as an underlay.
Finished with fine gathered pleats and Howard & Sons trim, in excellent condition.
