Ilana Goor Wrought Iron and Leather Armchair
About the Item
Wonderful iron and leather armchair by the talented Israeli designer Ilana Goor. This chair features distressed leather with a wrought iron rebar structure.
In very good original condition.
Ilana Goor was born in Isreal in 1936. She attended the Bezalel School of Art in Jerusalem which had been co-founded by her grandfather. Goor began sculpting in the late 60's while living in Los Angeles. She had her first one woman show at the Los Angeles State Museum in 1972.
Ilana Goor and her family moved to New York City in the 1980s during this time she designed jewelry and belt buckles that were sold in fine department stores throughout the United States. In 1994 Goor introduced a series of assemblages of antiquated farming tools including old plows and shredders.
