Inventive adjustable rattan armchair #514 by Dirk van Sliedregt, 1952.

About the Item

'Belt chair' 1952 by Dirk van Sliedregt for Gebroeders (Bros) Jonkers Noordwolde. This rattan low back armchair #514 has a black powder coated steel frame and a rattan seat shell. The chair is suspended from the frame with a leather belt connection on the back and is therefore also adjustable. A similar chair is permanently included in the collection of the National Woven Museum in Noordwolde, The Netherlands. This chair is in extremely good condition, no damage to the rattan and can be used. The belt has been replaced after 70 years for a newer one. This was done taken into account the same size etc..
