About the Item

Benjamin Hubert, born in 1984, British, child prodigy of international design, designs Juliet. The armchair symbol of the centenary of Poltrona Frau, winner of the design contest launched by the company on the occasion of its first hundred years among twelve talented designers from every part of the world. With an invitation and a challenge: to project the brand's values into the future now. The designer takes inspiration from fashion, and captures a detail, the puffed sleeve, which it uses to give shape to a new concept of armchair, strongly characterized in design. Traditional wooden frame which, narrower in the base, widens in a puff in the seat. Here the rich covering reinvents the classic capitonnée in a soft, free contemporary version, enriched by an original stitching with pleats for the interiors to recall the embroidery and gatherings of feminine bodices and sleeves, creating a multi-faceted pattern that moves surfaces. With a complexity of execution that expresses all the mastery of Poltrona Frau craftsmen. The result is great comfort, first and foremost visual. Sensations of relaxation and abandonment, given by the free play of folds and stitching. The structure is made of solid beech with a birch plywood base. The seat suspension is obtained with elastic straps. The seat and back padding is made of polyurethane foam and polyester wadding. The upholstery is in Pelle Frau® and the exclusive Pelle Frau® Century and is embellished with an innovative pleated stitching design on the inside of the seat and backrest.

Customizable La Manufacture-Paris Sassi Armchair Design by Atelier Oï
By Atelier Oï 1

Sassi owes its Italian name and its shape to pebbles, stones whose rounded shape provided its main inspiration.
