About

Wegner designed pair of Easy Chairs. This brilliant pair of easy chairs belongs to the exceedingly rare JH-800 "Flat Steel Series" for Johannes Hansen. Manufactured in 1970 as part of a high-end executive series by Wegner, the FS Series was discontinued shortly after its introduction. The 'JH-812' model is a Wegner masterwork--effortlessly merging grace with function, while creating a smooth balance between the chair's fluid leather and structured steel. Wegner first showed the design at the 1947 Copenhagen Cabinet Maker's Guild Exhibition. Submitted anonymously and intended for final production in wood, the 800-Series would not be produced for over 20 years, ultimately delivered in steel following advances and availability of new materials. The 800-Series included: two variants of desks, storage units, a sofa, armchairs, and the wildly scarce easy chairs. The JH-812 is among the most elegant and highly sought after pieces from this collection. Priced Individually.
