About the Item
Space age "Karate" armchair by the french designer Michel Cadestin, manufactured by Airborne (France) during the 70's. Made of a fiberglass shell with upholstered seats. Reupholstered with a light grey corduroy fabric.
Its organically rounded and embracing form invites for a comfortable sitting. This version is fully upholstered with corduroy. This armchair was notably displayed in 1971 in the very first scenes of the French film by Serge Korber with Louis de Funes, "Sur un arbre perché".
Michel Cadestin (born in 1942) was chosen for the interior design of the Pompidou Center in Paris in 1976 and received throughout his career numerous design awards, notably in 1983 as designer of the year.

This pivoting lounge chair is made of a fiberglass shell with upholstered seats.
Originally upholstered with a green velvet fabric, the fabric is in used but in good condition (see the pictures).
Its organically rounded and embracing form invites for a comfortable sitting. This version is fully upholstered.
