About the Item

A pair of large rectangular armchairs with low backs and deep seats, designed for comfort. The chairs rest on four limed oak feet and are upholstered in grey leather along the exterior, while the seat and back are finished in a creamy buff leather. A certificate from the designer’s rights holder accompanies the pair. Paul Dupré-Lafon, often described as the “decorator of millionaires,” was a French designer known for his elegant balance of modernist lines and luxurious materials. His work frequently combined restrained geometry with rich leathers and fine woods, creating pieces that remain timeless and sophisticated. Bibliography: Thierry Couvrat-Desvergnes, ‘Paul Dupré-Lafon décorateur des millionnaires’, Editions de l’amateur, Paris, 1990, pp. 100, 123.
