About the Item

A Bar Harbor style wicker arm chair in natural finish with colored trimming and braiding in green, red and black, American .C..1910 attributed to The Heywood Wakefield Company of Gardner, Ma. This large unique arm chair is very sturdy in design with full Bar Harbor styling. The perimeter of the chair is woven with a heavy duty wicker braid done in a beautiful green tone, other colored reeds in red and black were also woven to highlight the natural finished back and four sided natural finished chair skirting . This chair was a higher end piece of wicker furniture of this period which is shown in its designs seen in the extra fancy twisted French style weave of the natural finished sections of the chairs arms and four sided chair skirting. A much more time and labor consuming process to create. The upholstery is a handsome contemporary fabric with a brush fringe welting .. This chair is perfect, large and very comfortable. The perfect reading chair for relaxing in and enjoying a good book! A wonderful piece for any room in your home and of course the perfect addition for your covered porch or sunroom.. This beautiful chair is also shown photographed along side a companion Bar Harbor style piece acquired from the same estate in the same fabric priced and sold separately.

Bar Harbor Wicker Arm Chair
Located in Pasadena, CA
This is a classic Bar Harbor style wicker chair that dates to the first half of the twentieth century. The chair was reupholstered in a cherry red fabric and repainted at some point in the late twentieth century. The chair is in very good condition; the upholstery, although showing sign of use, is in very acceptable condition. We have decided not to restore the chair as the indications of wear are signs of original desirable patina and add character to the chair. This chair would work well in both an indoors casual setting, as well as outdoors under a covered veranda or terrace. We have listed several additional antique and vintage wicker...

Victorian Wicker Loveseat
Located in Miami Beach, FL
Part of a large collection of ornate Victorian wicker that was collected over the years by a Senator's wife. This rolled woven arm loveseat has wicker curlicues in the open areas under the side arm rests. Across the back are alternating lattice weaving and woven portions. The woven skirt comes from the top of the back leg to a mid-point on the front leg and returns to a shorter curved skirt in the center front. It is a delightful example of a late Victorian love seat.
