About the Item

A fine Louis XVI period Fauteuil, with Neoclassical carved designs throughout the exposed Walnut frame. Dating from the fourth quarter of the 1700s, and Italian in origin. The oval back with moulded edge and convex profile, supported by a pair of shaped uprights. The seat with exposed apron in similar moulded form, flanked by a pair of flared arms ending in scrolled form. These above downswept supports, each terminating into the corner of the apron. The chair with four shaped fluted legs of tapering form, each ending atop bun feet.
