About the Item

Very elegant appearance due the use of not common fabric, coming from particular Italian silk factory, this gentle upholstery gives these armchairs a very luxurious appearance. All covered with two types of combined velvet. One light gray crumpled velvet for the seat and the front part of backrest, and one in velvet gray and purple with glued sequins was used for the back part of the backrest. The armrests are made of beech wood stained in dark mahogany, which are attached to the armchair by means of screws. The two armchairs are raised from the ground by means of the legs in beech, the same color of the armrests. These chairs have been completely renovated and reupholstered by our own atelier, specializes in re-upholstery of design furniture. With great care for the original, make sure that each piece retains its value and is ready for many years to come. For each piece, before the departure, a revision is redone, to make sure it arrives in excellent condition.

Wingback Armchairs In Poplar And Mohair By Orlando Orlandi, Italy 1950's
By Orlando Orlandi
Located in Hellouw, NL
Not much is known about Milanese architect Orlando Orlandi except that he worked with Gio Ponti for a certain period of time. It has been suggested by various sources that this specific design is also a fruit of their collaboration, but this has not been confirmed. It may be assumed that the gentlemen shared their avant-garde formal language. Graceful, powerful and very architectonic. Imagine a décor from a Luca Guadagnino...
