About the Item
Important ebonized Baroque Venetian armchair, circa 1780 Fratelli Mora.
Produced by Fratelli Mora in Bergamo, factory established in 1778. At that time the main production was made by the Venetian aristocracy Bergamo being an important city of the Republic of Venice, La Serenissima.
Armchair in walnut hand-carved ebonized. Open back carved with floral motifs with two whimsical pinnacles. Armrests moved with canal Terminated willed. Legs, uprights and turned siding beams, twisted and carved rosettes on the nuts (item classical recall). Padded seat upholstered in beige velvet floral polychrome decorations and visible buttons for decorative purposes. Front feet with two wheels for easy moving.

About Testolini Frères Venise
Testolini Brothers saw its birth as a carpentry-cabinetmaking company; its owners were not ordinary personalities and immediately began to introduce new fashions in furnishings. The period chosen was not among the most propitious - shortly thereafter there would be the uprisings of 1848 and the famous revolt of Manin and the Republic of San Marco -, but the Testolini were not discouraged and serenely continued their production, seizing immediately the fresh artistic eclecticism that invaded the world from the mid-19th century, starting to conceive and produce original and imaginative models.
