These rare exceptionally impressive handmade chairs designed by Olivier de Schrijver (born 1958 in Congo) combine, with a unique style, an original and spectatular elegance to a comfy coziness.
Flirting subtly and gently with eccentricity while maintaining touch with tradition, infused by the grandiose and wild landscapes of the Maniema province of Congo, home to the artist's childhood, and faithful to the "neo-vintage" Schrijver's self described style, these joyful postmodern masterpieces, daring to combine pink faux fur and precious natural teak wood, are most certainly emblematic of the designer's production and his subsequent variations on the theme.
Both chairs are in excellent condition, signed and numbered 5/6 and 6/6 on the thick teak legs, edited by ODE Comme Chez Vous art.
