About the Item

Pair of period French Empire mahogany bergeres with stylized carved dolphins decorating the arm and gilt bronze mounts. The central bronze mount depicting the helmeted god Mercury and his symbol the caduceus, his staff with snakes entwined surmounted by wings, shown on both sides. The legs also with masks of Mercury. These distinctive, well made and study armchairs are both elegant and comfortable, a price of history from the stylish French Empire Period.
