About the Item

A pair of exceptional Gustavian armchairs crafted in Stockholm during the 1780s. These chairs represent the classic medallion-back style that was widely popular during the period. They are of the larger model, offering both generous proportions and excellent comfort. The legs are elegantly adorned with gadrooned fluting, adding sophistication to the design. The front rail and the top of the backrest feature finely carved floral details, while the leg joints to the rail are enhanced with graceful florets.
