About the Item

Butaque refers to a small wooden armchair traditionally upholstered in animal skin. The design represents a Colonial-era blend of Spanish X-frame chairs and pre-Columbian Taino ritual seats. In the 1930s, Cuban designer Clara Porset was significantly inspired by this style.
