This is an ultra-rare opportunity to acquire what is, unequivocally, the best of the best, it being a most spectacular, immaculate, beautifully-presented identical pair of “Versailles” Armchairs from the renown French furniture maker, Gilles Nouailhac. Previously commissioned by a private client in an impossibly-elegant and refined Pale-Stone woollen-fabric option, and with Pale-Oak hand-carved legs and framework. As you will no doubt be aware by your interest in this listing, Gilles Nouailhac are the epitome of classic French furniture design, are of peerless quality, and exhibit detailing and execution of an unrivalled standard. In a world of temporary pleasures, Gilles Nouailhac craftsmen create beautiful furniture built to last a lifetime, with there being no finer, or more beautifully appointed, example of their work than this. This suite of armchairs is in superb, impeccably-maintained condition, having rarely been employed since their costly acquisition, and are entirely free from fault, flaw or damage. Aside for one-or-two light, superficial marks to the fabric (as you might expect with a woollen-cloth of this colour and nature) and some light marks and dings to the already deliberately-distressed legs and framework, they are nothing short of sublime, immaculate and wholly-divine.
