About the Item

Set of two, H.P. Berlage inspired "Amsterdam School" armchairs. These chairs, manufactured in The Netherlands in the interwar years, have been newly upholstered in gold velvet but retain the characteric esthetics of the Dutch Art-Deco school of design, well-known for its expressive shapes, inspiration from nature like animals and flowers and effective use of contrast between oak and exotic woods. Lightly refinished frames with some age-appropriate wear.
