Pair of Italian 18th Century Venetian Patinated and Mecca Armchairs

About the Item

A sensational pair of Italian 18th century Venetian patinated and Mecca arm chairs. Each arm chair is raised by beautiful cabriole legs with scrolled Mecca acanthus leaf feet and finely hand painted detailed flowers. A Mecca fillet extends up each leg and along the scalloped shaped frieze which is centered by a beautiful pieced reserve and a mottled Mecca border. Each most decoratively scrolled arm displays additional fine hand painted flowers with Mecca fillet which extend up the striking upholstered back support. At the top center is a most impressive pieced foliate reserved and an array of beautifully painted flowers. This pair of armchairs 'A Chassis' which signifies the ease of removing the seat and back enabling to change the upholstery for every season. All original patina and Mecca finish throughout.
