Pair of Italian Mid 19th Century Neo-Classical St. Armchairs

About the Item

An exquisite pair of Italian mid 19th century Neo-Classical st. armchairs. The light green patinated frame is stunningly decorated with giltwood designs throughout and three matching upholstered pillows. Raised by front tapered topie shaped legs with rosette blocks, straight tapered legs at the back and a decorative frieze. Each covered armrest is decorated with a spectacular carved sphinx support. At the top is a central urn flanked by griffins and foliate scrolls. All below the curved Rai de Coeur designed top border. With all original gilt throughout.
