Pair of Late 18th Century High Gustavian Armchairs
About the Item
A pair of high Gustavian armchairs crafted in Sweden during the 1780s. These chairs feature a straight design with square legs. The top rail is adorned with a hop vine motif, with traces of the original paint still visible. Much of the original paint remains and has been carefully revealed. The leg joints to the rail are decorated with elegant florets.
