A Pair of Submarine Sheep Leather Chairs

About the Item

This pair of newly made "Submarine" dark leather club chairs was made in an atelier near Paris, France. Inspired by nautical designs, the compact chairs are crafted using high-quality lamb leather, high-density foam and kiln-dried hardwood frames for years of trouble-free use. The slender arms are mated to full-depth seats with ample padding. The leather is soft and luxurious but designed for rough use in challenging conditions. The leather will patinate beautifully with time and use. The chairs are built with a low profile, accommodating the confined spaces within submarines. Though the chairs appear narrow, they comfortably fit six-footers due to the depth of the seat. Subtly Art Deco in design, the chairs blend easily with modern decor -they are timeless.

Rare Pair of 1950's Modern Anglo-Indian Arm Chairs
Located in Chicago, IL
These Anglo-Indian lounge chairs date to the early 1950's and were made in the Mid-Century style. During the British Colonial period and in the two decades after independence, much Indian furniture was made following British or European styles. However, these "Indian Modern" pieces were original designs and simpler and sturdier than their European counterparts. Exquisite native hardwood were used, such as Teak and Rosewood and woven rattan was substituted for upholstery, which grew musty in the humid Indian climate. Lines and details were simple. Over time, Indian craft became very sophisticated and design became more and more creative. Whether the vintage furniture...

Vintage Pair of Armchairs with Chrome Legs
Located in Chicago, IL
These petite lounge chairs have a low-slung design that looks Italian. In fact, they are Hungarian, dating to the late 1960s or 70s. In the post-war period, Hungarian luxury furniture production was sharply reduced and designs became very simplified, befitting a Socialist society. The best pieces were reserved for members of the party or cultural elites. These chairs have lightweight chrome-plated steel tube legs and angular shape which was inspired by Italian Brutalism...
