About the Item

Arne Jacobsen Swan Chair (no labels) in Red Upholstery on a Four Star Metal Base Arne Emil Jacobsen, usually known as Arne Jacobsen, (11 February 1902 to€“ 24 March 1971) was one of Denmark’s most successful architects and designers. In particular, he is remembered for developing the ‘Danish Modern’ style and for contributing so much to architectural functionalism. In addition to his architectural work, he was one of the most important contributors to Danish design, especially as a result of the worldwide success he enjoyed with simple but effective chair designs. The Swan Chair again designed by Jacobsen to complement his “Egg Chair” with it’s very organic feel with the distinct lack of hard edges and a beautiful curved form this chair looks stunning especially when teamed up with the 2 seater Swan sofa. The Swan Chair is constructed of a single rigid foam shell and can be made up of a wide variety of fabrics including cashmere, wool and Italian leathers to give a fantastic and dynamic effect to your room. The chair sits on an aluminium swivel base.
