Pair of Vintage Oak and Rush Chairs by Mel Smilow, USA, 1960

About the Item

An American take on the modern country styles pioneered by Charlotte Perriand and Pierre Gauthier-Delaye, those chairs are very elegant yet rustic and would work in a country home as well as a refined city apartment. Very light, they can be moved around easily to entertain. Offered here in their original rush seats and back with refinished wood frames. Outstanding and unusual proportions.
