Pair of Warren McArthur Armchairs, Model 1044, 1933 to 1935

About the Item

Two early aluminum armchairs manufactured in Rome, New York by the Warren McArthur Corporation during the first two years of production from that factory. The chairs were re-upholstered probably during the early 1960s in this colorfully striped cotton duck. Both armchairs have the first decal label issued by McArthur in Rome, N.Y. (Patent Applied For) dating them from 1933 to 1935. The chairs are in excellent vintage condition with one replaced rubber foot and a small crack in the lowest stretcher bar floor tube on one chair (see image 10).

    Wear consistent with age and use. Minor structural damages. Early Chairs one has a tube crack but the surrounding washers are on so tightly this has no effect on the integrity or functionality of the chair frame.
