Regency Gainsborough Armchair

About

A rare and unusual English Regency period open armchair appearing to be in its original mottled blue-green paint, with traces of worn gilding on its front leg turnings. Hand-wear to painted surfaces reveals the color and graining of a yew wood frame. Comfortable and sturdy seating; perhaps more appropriate as a salon armchair, than a library armchair.
