Rustic French ladder back armchair, circa 1840-1860. The shape of the scrolled ladder back slats and delicately carved arms of this chair are characteristic of furniture from the Southwest region of France. The rush seat has a beautiful patina and is possibly original, or very old, and in excellent condition.
