About the Item

The SANDOWS chair was presented for the first time at the Paris Salon d'Automne in 1929. This chair has a simple steel tube structure, a seat and a backrest made with elastic cords. Here it is here, the black version with its armrests. It was probably put into production by the company Etablissement René Herbst, which the architect had founded in Paris. The “Sandows Chair” is on permanent display at MoMA in New York.
