About the Item

A handsome and most impressive set of four Italian early 19th century Renaissance st. walnut and pressed leather throne armchairs. Each chair is raised by straight square legs connected by fine scalloped shaped stretchers at each side and striking pierced scrolled foliate stretchers at the front. The straight arms display finely mottled borders and are supported by most decorative turned supports flanking the original leather seats with original exceptional brass nail heads. The original pressed leather back supports are centered by beautiful gilt accented family crests also retaining their original brass nail heads. Seat Height: 21.5".
