Set of Six French Early 19th Century Directoire Period Armchairs

About the Item

A most handsome and complete set of six French early 19th century Directoire period armchairs. Each armchair is raised by elegant square tapered legs, the front two legs are attached by the fine curved frieze and display striking paw feet. Each upholstered arm support displays a detailed and richly carved caryatid and a carved foliate design at the attractive and finely scrolled upholstered back support.
