Spazzapan Italian Post-Modern Pop Art Red Metal Armchair with Fabric Seat Cover
About the Item
A fun unique modern organic Italian design, manufactured and signed by the Italian artist, Anacleto Spazzapan (Luino, Italy - 1943). A seating collector piece, a minimalist design made entirely by hand with hand-welded thin iron rods, cold painted in red, with the addition of a red fabric section to cover the seating area, realized with handwoven strips creating an attractive checkered geometric pattern, it is removable and fixed to the body with hooks, a statement to the mission of functionality intrinsic to Spazzapan's work.
Suitable for all types of environments thanks to the use of epoxy powder paint which protects the iron by preventing it from rusting with a preparation base in zinc black paint. The armchair bears on the back the initials AS, the signature of the artist.
Every piece by Anacleto Spazzapan is individually designed and manufactured. He chooses materials provided by nature and because of his background in the field of antiques, he values history and the handmade with an attraction towards Baroque Art.
In his own words: "Everything inspires me. Sometimes it’s something I see, other times it’s the mathematic formula I rely on to produce the functional item I have in mind. A chair, for example, needs to have a certain size and be comfortable: those are the crucial features to start the creative process and then the manufacturing completion. To me, a design object must be functional." Anacleto conveys joy and exuberance in his work, he loves to play with rich vivid colors, shapes, and curves.
His furniture is highly collectible and decorates the most exclusive interiors all-over the world.
