About the Item

A stunning pair of 19th century Georgian design mahogany open armchairs in the manner of Chippendale. Stunningly hand carved with a lovely patina, the bow shaped top rail with fluted corners is raised over a beautiful pierced interlocking back splat with c scroll and foliate detail, above outswept curved arms with fluted terminals on curved supports. The drop-in seats are upholstered in burgundy leather above moulded apron supported on outswept legs to the rear and square tapering legs to the fore joined with H-stretcher.
