Togo Armchair by Michel Ducaroy for Ligne Roset, 1973

About the Item

This sofa was designed by Michel Ducaroy for Ligne Roset in the 1970s. He devoted 26 years of his life to heading the design department at Ligne Roset. It was in 1973 that the designer conceived his most iconic creation: the Togo sofa. According to Michel Ducaroy, this model was directly inspired by a toothpaste tube folded in on itself. Ducaroy offers several variations of this piece: sofa (2 or 3 seats), pouf or corner. The Togo won the René-Gabriel prize for its undeniable innovation in being the first sofa to be made entirely of foam. Ligne Roset has been the exclusive publisher of the Togo sofa since its creation, and it is still being produced to this day. The Togo sofa has a structure in polyester foam covered with a yellow leather cover. Entirely made of foams of 3 different densities (polyether 21 kg/m3 - 3,2 kPa, polyether 28 kg/m3 - 4,8 kPa and high resilience polyurethane 26 kg/m3 - 1,4 kPa). In very good condition, completely reupholstered in our workshop.
