Unusual Pair of French Art Deco Ebonised Armchairs in a Crushed Velvet

About the Item

A very comfortable pair of Art Deco 20th century ebonised armchairs upholstered in an off white crushed velvet. French Circa 1930-40. The design and shape of these chairs say it all, they have elegance and style. Having a sprung vase shaped inset square top back , the armrest scrolled and piped retaining a feathered cushion seat. Of U shape design having an ebonised front facade with shaped and tapered legs to the front and rear. Very stylish, these chairs having been upholstered in a top grade crushed velvet with the timber having been French polished to an excellent finish. These armchairs are extremely comfortable, they have a very soft sprung back with a large feathered cushion seat. Offered in excellent condition these unique and contemporary armchairs have a design we have not seen before and will work well in any contemporary setting. Measures: Width: 36 1/4 inches - 92 cm Height: 34 inches - 86.5 cm Depth: 33 1/2 inches - 85 cm.

A commanding matching pair of Art Deco lounge chairs in a rich navy blue upholstery. The armchairs have high backs and large shapely column arms with pleated fronts that surround the generous seats. Both chairs are raised on oak feet and finished with brass castors. The castors can be removed easily if the chairs need to sit flat on the floor.
