About the Item

Glasgow school, an unusual pair of stained cypress wood armchairs, possibly by Herbert MacNair. Herbert MacNair worked very closely with Mackintosh and some pieces of furniture in the Hunterian Art Gallery by MacNair are also made of cypress wood.
