About the Item
The Theia Lounge Chair inherited its name from the Greek goddess who gave birth to Selene, the moon goddess. The name Theia was also later used to describe a planet which, according to the giant impact hypothesis, collided with Earth 4.5 billion years ago. It is understood that the massive impact resulted in the creation of our moon, whose craters Theia's hand-carved texture resembles.
Shown in ebonized white oak with 100% mohair upholstery. Also available in natural finish with wool blend upholstery. Custom upholstery available upon request.
Each piece is unique and handmade in the Brooklyn studio. All woods are locally sourced and finishes are derived from non toxic plant based materials.
