Walnut French Armchairs, 1890s, Set of 2

About the Item

Antique pair of baroque carved walnut throne chairs, circa 1880. The chairs have carved crests with a shell motif in the center, flanked by a pair of finials; The central board is highly carved with acanthus leaves and flanked by turned supports and its backrest is made of cane. The scrolled arms have acanthus leaf terminals, and the chairs have cane seats. The chairs are raised on turned legs with compressed bun feet and attached with an ornate carved stretcher.
