Walnut Sculptural String Chair Crafted in the Irving Sabo Studio for JGFurniture

About the Item

The elusive "String Chair" was designed by Connecticut designer Irving Sabo and produced by JG Furniture beginning in 1953. The artist's work is extensively referenced in modern design literature from the period such as Furniture Forum, Modern Furnishings for the Home, Arredimento Moderno, and George Nelson's book titled Chairs. This is a rare and sculptural form that does not come available often. What makes this example even rarer is the original finish and string is still intact. A true museum-grade work of art.
