On offer on this occasion is a rarest of the rare with provenance to die-for, with it being a superb “Oscar 221-10 and 221-H” Armchair and Stool from the world renown German furniture house of Walter Knoll, dressed in a sublime Pale Chalk-White leather and with matt polished-aluminium framework and, most remarkably, recently acquired from the product-archive of PearsonLloyd of London (the design-house that created this iconic piece for Walter Knoll in 2001) through the world-renown design-luminary Tom Lloyd (with written-provenance to fully-support this). Opportunities to acquire the designers-own pieces are once-every-blue-moon events, with this no different. It is the sample piece of the “Oscar” supplied to PearsonLloyd by Walter Knoll in 2001 and, having only resided in the PearsonLloyd archive since, still possesses its original swing-tickets to confirm its authenticity and rarity. If you ever wanted an “Oscar”, we would venture that this would be the one to buy as, whilst undoubtedly-beautiful to own and use, is likely to prove an interesting investment too. As you will no doubt be aware by your interest in this design-masterpiece, Walter Knoll pieces are the epitome of contemporary European furniture design, are of peerless quality, and exhibit detailing and execution of an unrivalled standard. In a world of temporary pleasures, Walter Knoll create beautiful furniture that remains a joy forever. This piece is in superb, immaculately-maintained condition, reflecting the infrequent employment it has seen in the past, and is entirely free from fault, flaw or damage. Its fine order reflects the TLC and remarkably light use afforded it in the past but, as you should realistically expect from pieces of this nature and colour, there is the odd, minor superficial blemish to be found, but certainly nothing that compromises the beauty of this stunning example. The dimensions of the Armchair are H-100cm, W-88cm and D-100cm, with the stool measuring H-39cm, W-47cm and D-51cm, and the breathtaking seating position this iconic modern-design creates is enhanced by the use of sumptuously comfortable, generously upholstered composite-filled back and seat cushioning, which leaves you powerless to resist their charms. Costing in excess of £2,500 when new, but also with the remarkable provenance that this piece possesses (and the value this inevitably adds), this represents spectacular value for money, and we have no doubt it will serve and delight its new owner for many years to come.
