19th Century American Country Pennsylvania Painted Mortised Bench

About the Item

A wonderfully distressed antique early American Pennsylvania painted wooden bench with highly desirable heavily worn rustic patina. Primitive hand-crafted solid wood construction, having a rectangular plank bench seat, quality mortise joinery, rising on shaped supports, retaining remnants of the original green paint pigment. Dimensions: (approx) 17.75" High, 41.75" Wide, 12.75" Deep As warm and attractive as it is useful, having the ideal size and proportions for a variety of uses, including as a hall or entry bench, end of bed settee, low table, wall console, plant stand, kitchen crock or bucket bench, to name just a few. Provenance / Acquisition: Acquired from highly reputable auction house, Bright Star Antiques Co., Sulfur Springs, Texas. Specializing in early American country antiques for over thirty years. Condition: Great original unrestored antique condition with highly desirable heavily worn distressed mellow patina with chippy paint losses. Strong, sturdy, stable, and structurally sound. Presents very well. Delivered cleaned and ready for immediate use!
