About the Item
An excellent example of a 19th century Black Forest carved wooden bear bench from Switzerland made from linden wood. The bench having highly detailed hand carved bears at either end standing on their hind legs and holding the handles of the bench seat, which is in the form of a chest, which is highly carved with another bear figure and wonderfully relieved leaves. The feet are also decorated with hand carved leaves. The top lifts to reveal storage.
