19th Century French Coffer Trunk Now Fahsioned as a Bench

About the Item

A unique, one of a kind, French antique oak coffer trunk from the late 19th century, now fashioned as a bench with later upholstery faux cushioned seat with printed three dimensional button tufting. The antique chest, circa 1875, having a hinged top that lifts to reveal a spacious open interior, offering plenty of storage, the lid having contrasting red upholstery, and a solid, three board plank bottom. The outside having a decorative front panel with cartouche framed by hand-carved floral and ribbon garlands, iron carrying handles at sides, moulded base rising on front bun feet. It has a beautiful, elegantly aged, warm patina. It's in great condition, very solid/sturdy, with good presence. From Victorian to romantic rustic modern, this exceptional chest is sure to bring character and charm and brighten any room Dimensions (approx): 23" H, 28.25" W, 19.25" D Delivered cleaned, waxed and ready for years of use.
