About the Item

This elegant 19th-century French bench, crafted circa 1870 in the Louis XIV style, brings refined craftsmanship and rich texture to any interior. The solid oak frame has been bleached to a soft, natural finish that highlights its intricate carvings, including floral motifs, block feet, and gracefully arched stretchers with a central shell cartouche, hallmarks of the Baroque aesthetic. The seat is upholstered in new hand-dyed cognac leather, accented with antique brass nailhead trim for a tailored and classic touch. Plush and supportive, the cushion adds comfort without compromising the piece’s sculptural silhouette. Measuring 42 inches wide by 16 inches deep and 21 inches high, this antique bench works beautifully at the foot of a bed, along a hallway, or as occasional seating in a salon. Excellent condition commensurate with age and use, with a beautiful light oak patinated finish.
